Once on Mackinac Island, how do we get to The Inn at Stonecliffe?
Once you arrive on Mackinac Island, you will be greeted by a Dock Porter who will be helpful in answering any questions you have. There are horse drawn shuttle services available until 6PM to take guests to the Inn at Stonecliffe. After 6PM, taxis are available by contacting the Taxi Company at 906 847-3323. Please note that the Taxi Company will not take unaccompanied luggage on taxis. At least one member of your party must ride with your luggage.
How do I get my luggage to The Inn at Stonecliffe?
When you arrive at the ferry docks in Mackinaw City or St. Ignace, ask the dockhands to tag your luggage for The Inn at Stonecliffe. If you arrive prior to 6PM, your luggage will travel on a cart on the back of the boat to the island. Once on the island, our dock porters will pick up your luggage from the Mackinac Island ferry docks and take it directly to your room at The Inn at Stonecliffe. After 6PM, taxis are available by contacting the Taxi Company at 906 847-3323. Please note that the Taxi Company will not take unaccompanied luggage on taxis. At least one member of your party must ride with your luggage.

What meals do you serve?
Breakfast is included for all registered guests and is served each morning from 8am to 10:30am. Breakfast includes a buffet of varied hot items, fresh fruits, muffins, pastries, cereal, hot coffee and teas, and fresh fruit juices.
Our cocktail lounge is open from 4pm to 10pm and for dinner, The Cudahy Chophouse is open from 5pm to 9pm. Dinner reservations are strongly recommended.
What is there to see and do on Mackinac Island?
A lot! Bike the 8.2 miles around the island and stop along the way to see Arch Rock, British Landing Nature Center, Lover's Leap and Devil's Kitchen. Visit Fort Mackinac, a 219-year old National Historic Site built by the British. Tour the Mackinac Island Butterfly House, a large greenhouse filled with beautiful butterflies. Take a carriage tour of the island, or explore Mackinac's many trails on horseback. Spend the day shopping downtown in Mackinac's unique shops, and of course, don't forget the fudge! Since there are no cars on Mackinac Island, how do you get around?
Most everything on the island is within a ten to fifteen minute walk from the Inn, so walking and biking are the most popular transportation choices. When those options simply won't do, horse drawn taxis are available to take you where you need to go.
What is your pet policy?
The Inn at Stonecliffe cannot accommodate pets.
Wedding Questions
What locations are available for a wedding ceremony?
The Inn at Stonecliffe offfers three distinct locations for your ceremony. The Lakeview Portico overlooks Lake Michigan and the Mackinac Bridge and is great for smaller weddings. The Terraced Lawn offers panoramic views of the Straits of Mackinac and Mackinac Bridge, and the Woodland Grotto offfers a tranquil setting in front of the lily pond amidst the pines.
What types of receptions can you host?
Plated or buffet dinners and hors d'oeuvres receptions.
How many guests can we host?
The Bridgeview Tent at the Inn at Stonecliffe can accommodate up to 150 guests for banquets and receptions.
Do you have a private venue for smaller receptions?
For groups of less than 40 people, the Lakeview Portico is the perfect spot to hold your intimate event. For larger groups, our beautiful Bridgeview Tent offers breathtaking views of the water and the Mackinac Bridge and is equipped with a bar and a dance floor.
How long will our event space be available to us?
Reception and ceremony venues are available from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. There is a four-hour maximum. Receptions cannot run over the allotted time. All outdoor events must end by 10:00 p.m..
Do you have a dance floor?
Yes, there is a great dance floor located in the Bridgeview Tent that overlooks the Mackinac Bridge and the Straits of Mackinac.
What kind of music do you recommend for the ceremony/reception?
Hiring a pianist, harpist, guitarist or string quartet is the most elegant musical option for your wedding. DJs and amplified music are not permitted inside the Inn for consideration of our other guests.
Who will be available to assist us on our wedding day?
The Inn at Stonecliffe's wedding specialist will be available during your event to attend to every detail and ensure your special day is complete without a snag.
Who can assist me with arranging items such as carriages, my cake, the church, etc?
The Inn at Stonecliffe can provide a referral to an Island wedding coordinator to assist you with all of these details.
How do I check availability, request a proposal or a contract?

How do I reserve guest rooms for my guests?
Weekends at the Inn sell out very quickly and we recommend contracting a guestroom block for your guests at the same time you contract your wedding venue.
When do you need the final head count?
The Inn at Stonecliffe requires a final head count no later than 30 days prior to a scheduled event at the Inn.
