Mackinac Island Attractions & Activities

Two Bedroom Suite Waterview

Activities and Amenities

Though the atmosphere at The Inn at Stonecliffe is one of tranquility and relaxation, you’ll be pleased to know that you’ll never run out of things do and attractions to see, both at the Inn and on Mackinac Island.

Without ever leaving the grounds, you can enjoy a swim in the heated outdoor pool, strike up a family bocce ball or croquet tournament on the lawn or just relax with a good book on the Portico.  If a bout of wanderlust takes hold, consider an evening stroll around the Inn, or rent a bike and get lost on the island’s trails.

Manor Room - Audubon

Pool

The Inn at Stonecliffe is one of the few places on the island to offer guests the enjoyment of an outdoor heated swimming pool.  Perfect for an invigorating swim or a refreshing dip on a warm summer day, our pool opens the first Friday of June and closes the third Sunday in September.

Lawn Games

Complimentary lawn games are available from our front desk for guests to use during their stay.  From bocce ball to croquet sets, our beautiful back lawn awaits.

Biking

When you have the urge to explore local attractions, The Inn at Stonecliffe rents a variety of adult-size bikes by the hour or day.  Additionally, many Mackinac Island bike shops rent bikes with helmets, maps and everything you need to explore the Island’s paved trails or car-free streets.  Bike the 8.2 miles around the island and stop along the way to see Arch Rock, British Landing Nature Center and Devil's Kitchen.  Pedal to Fort Mackinac, a more than 200-year-old National Historic Site built by the British or tour the Mackinac Island Butterfly House, a large indoor tropical garden filled with butterflies from all over the world.

Tours & Guest Services

Our guest service agents are always ready to help you plan an unforgettable day by offering a diverse range of services, including:

  • Recommendations and information on all local attractions
  • Booking golf tee times or dinner reservations
  • Scheduling taxi transportation
  • Booking cruises and fishing excursions, horseback riding tours, horse drawn carriage tours, or historical tours

A key ingredient to the magic of Mackinac Island is that there are no cars anywhere on the island.  Life moves at a leisurely pace, and walking and biking are the most popular ways to get around.  However you choose to experience the area’s many colorful attractions, you’ll enjoy a memorable vacation on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
