Getting to Mackinac Island
By Land:
Passenger ferry service to Mackinac Island is located in the downtown areas of Mackinaw City in the lower peninsula and St. Ignace in the upper peninsula.

By Air:
Commercial airline service is available through Northwest Airlines to Pellston Regional Airport, which is 10 miles from Mackinaw City. Taxi service is available from the airport to the ferry docks, and air charter service to the island is also available..

Mackinac Island sits in the Straits of Mackinac, a waterway that separates Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas and connects Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. The island is in the eastern part of the Straits, making it a part of Lake Huron.
